SHOOTING

Many cycling and mountain bike trails, at various grades, are located within the area. Explore routes while enjoying stunning scenery and beautiful landmarks such as Drumlanrig Castle. WALKING & HILL WALKING

Dramatic and historical walking trails are located within the area, from exhilarating coastline to forest and hill routes. The famous Andy Goldsworthy “Striding Arches Hill Walk” passes through stunning scenery and glen views. There are many fishing options available in Dumfries and Galloway. Nithsdale is a fishing area famous for salmon & trout fishing. There is a mixture of pools suitable for fly, spinning or worming. Fishing tickets are available through The BQA Hotel and we also have a special Fishing Package.

Drumlanrig Castle offers a wide range of activities for all the family including Fishing and Shooting. Based only about 4 Miles from The BQA Hotel, Drumlanrig Castle Estate spans over 90,000 acres and is steeped in stunning countryside.

Fishing

Drumlanrig Castle Fishing options include Salmon and Sea Trout in the River Nirth and Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout in the well stocked lochs. There are also family fishing packages available.

Shooting

Enjoy a wonderful day’s Game shooting at Drumlanrig Castle on the magnificent Queensberry Estate. Overseen by a team of expert gamekeepers and with conservation and sustainability a priority, this is one of the most in demand venues for Game Shooting in Scotland. Choose from a range of shoot days offering Partridge, Pheasant and Grouse and up to 500 birds per day. Choose from full or double gun, driven days with loaders to single guns with bag.
